Course Offerings

This 8-hour course satisfies the training requirement prescribed by the state of Connecticut in order to obtain a Connecticut Security Officer Identification Card (CT Guard Card) Pursuant to C.G.S. 29-161q all persons working as a security officer in Connecticut must have this card. During the class we will cover: Basic First Aid, Search and Seizure Laws, Use of Force, Basic Criminal Justice, and Public Safety Issues.

Fee for the course is $100.00 per student.

NRA Basics of Pistol Shooting Course

This National Rifle Association approved training course will teach students the basic knowledge, skills and attitude necessary for owning and using a pistol safely. This course satisfies the training requirement for obtaining a Connecticut Permit to Carry a Pistol/Revolver. The student will learn safe gun handling and the fundamentals of pistol shooting along with how to safely store and maintain a firearm. This is an objective based course and will take approximately 8 hours to complete.

Fee for the course is $150.00 per student.

This American Heart Association authorized course will prepare students to promptly recognize several life-threatening emergencies, give high quality chest compressions, deliver appropriate ventilations and provide early use of an AED. This course is for any personnel who need to know how to perform CPR and other basic cardiovascular life support skills. The class will take 4.5 hours to complete.

Fee for the course is $75.00 per student.

The Defensive Tactics/Personal Safety 1-Day Course is an 8 hour course in basic defensive skills; taught to anyone wishing to learn the rudimentary skills of prevailing in physical altercations.  The skills taught are not only defensive techniques but also concepts intended to develop a mindset of survival. By educating students about interpersonal human aggression and the Stress Survival Response within the body, we will be able to set the foundation for a student to prevail in violent encounters.

Fee for the course is $100.00 per student. 

This 4-hour course will prepare students how to respond during a mass casualty event such as an active shooter or terrorist attack. Students will become familiar with the concepts of Run-Hide-Fight and how to employ those concepts within the framework of W.I.N. (What’s Important Now) This course will consist of both lecture and practical exercise.

Fee for the course is $75.00 per student.

This 4-hour course is designed for the contact professional and anyone that is interested in improving their ability to manage conflict through verbal de-escalation techniques. During the course the participant will learn the power of paraphrasing, how to actively listen and how to detect when a verbal conflict is escalating to a potentially volatile situation. Master the art of “fighting without fighting”

Fee for the course is 75.00 per student.

This 4-hour course will familiarize students with the psychological and physiological effects of fear during a stress survival response. Students will be taught why the fear of violence is natural and how that fear can be managed, as an effective tool, enabling them to prevail in a violent encounter. Students will learn the importance of realistic training and mental visualization in the management of aggressive behavior. This course will help in developing the winning mindset that is the foundation of any self-defense program.

Fee for the course is $75.00 per student.

This 4-hour course will teach the student how to respond during an emergency incident within a church environment. Topics discussed will include: active shooters, fires, and medical emergencies. You will learn the role of the “Armor Bearer” Students will also learn how to establish a Church Safety Team and create emergency response plans.

Personal Safety Combatives Training

Force Management Systems LLC also offers ongoing training classes in personal safety combatives. The ability to integrate physical tactics and survival concepts into a daily lifestyle is through repetition. FMS will arrange individual and group training classes into a training regimen for anyone looking to enhance their physical fitness and self-defense muscle memory. From Ground Defense, Striking Techniques, and Escape Techniques FMS will design a practical system that will resonate with the practitioner.
